This egg roll is loaded with vegetables e.g cabbage and carrot. I love the cabbage part as I never know what to do with one, outside stir-fries and coleslaw salads:

  • Cabbage (green)
  • Carrots
  • Green onion
  • Spicy pork sausages
  • Coconut aminos/tamari – You can find these here.
  • Rice Vinegar
  • Ginger
  • Toasted sesame oil
  • Garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

A high sided skillet will come in handy to cook this dish.

An easy to whip up Keto egg roll in a bowl that is also suitable for the Whole30 and Paleo Lifestyles. It takes no more than 30 minutes to prepare.

ingredients:

  • 2.25 lb (1kg) bulk spicy pork sausage
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3 cups shredded green cabbage
  • 1 medium shredded carrot
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1/2 tbsp fresh ginger minced
  • 2 tbsp chopped green onions
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp coconut aminos (or tamari)
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds (optional – for garnishing)

How to cook Keto Egg Roll In A Bowl

  1. 1. Heat a high sided skillet and add sausages to cook until they have browned (no longer pink). Remove from pan and drain excess grease from the skillet.
  1. 2. Return the pan to the heat and add water (scrape off any brown beats left on the pan). Add cabbage, carrots, garlic powder, sesame oil, ginger, and green onions, and reduce the heat to medium. Season with salt and pepper and cook until the carrot softens and cabbage wilts.
  1. 3. Add the tamari or coconut aminos, and rice vinegar and cook for another 2 minutes. Remove from the heat and transfer to a serving platter or bowls. Sprinkle the sesame seeds to garnish (optional), and serve.
